Yawen is a New York based early childhood educator. She started playing piano at the age of 5. Originally from Taiwan, Yawen received her Bachelor Degree in Music Education from National Taipei University of Education majored in Music Performance, she has also received the certificate of elementary school teacher. After coming to the New York, she attended New York University Steinhardt School of Education and graduated with a Master degree in Music Technology.

She has been working with kids and teaching music, private lessons, group lessons for years both in Taiwan and in New York City. Yawen developed various music programs for students ranged from 1 year old to 12 year olds, including eurhythmics, music improvisation. She believes that music can bring so much more to our daily lives and being in the team of Bilingual Birdies makes her ideas accessible to extend the relation between language and music!
